The character input function supports kanji and kana handwriting recognition. The recognition algorithm is capable of handling incorrect stroke order and minor mistakes. Additionally, when multiple similar characters are found, users can preview them without needing to redraw by simply performing a long press.

Users can also utilize advanced search options such as radical-based searches (e.g., searching for "日" and "月" will yield "明") and wildcard searches. The "*" symbol can replace any number of characters, while "?" can replace a single character. Both English and Japanese words are supported in wildcard searches. Furthermore, the app allows searching by kanji, kana, and romaji input; meaning searches for "じしょ", "じsho", and "jisho" will yield identical results.

The app conveniently organizes kanji lists according to JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) levels and school grades (1-6), aiding learners in their study journeys.
